Our boss Silke and the entire company have a very special and close connection to Mozambique and its artists since quite a while.

We are therefore delighted to be able to manufacture the first Vinyl LP by the legendary and award-winning Mozambican jazz saxophonist, producer & composer Moreira Chonguiça.

Moreira Chonguiça is not only a living legend in Mozambique, he is also considered one of the leading modern jazz saxophonists on the African continent. He has made a significant contribution to integrating Mozambican musical traditions (marrabenta, pandza, timbila rhythms) into a contemporary jazz context. He has been firmly established in the South African jazz scene since the early 2000s and is regularly requested for major festivals and collaborations.

Through collaborations with Manu Dibango, performances at renowned jazz festivals (including the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival) and releases that have also attracted attention in European and US jazz circles, he is known in the global jazz community as an innovative bridge builder between African roots and modern jazz language.

In addition, Moreira Chonguiça is not only a musician, but also a curator of music projects, lecturer and organizer of the “MoreJazz” festival in Mozambique – a project to promote young talent and network African artists.
