We mourn a beautiful queer soul whose life was stolen tonight.

We grieve.

We cry.

We scream.

And we stand with everyone who was injured, hoping for their full recovery.

But hear us clearly:

You may wound us,

but you will never erase us.

We are who we are.

We have always been here, and we always will be.

We are the pop stars you celebrate.

We are the fashion you wear.

We are the films and television you love.

We are the opera, the theatre, and the art that moves you.

We are everywhere your world is filled with colour, music, beauty, and joy.

And we will keep raising our flag-making it brighter, more colourful, more visible-because we believe that every person who finds themselves deserves the freedom to live openly and without fear, so long as they harm no one.

Tonight, you made us cry.

Tomorrow, we will still be here.

We are many.

We are everywhere.

And we are not going away.
